Work for People, Stay Away from Corruption – Chief Minister Majhi’s Message to New Govt Staff

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday urged newly appointed government employees to uphold honesty, integrity and transparency as they begin their careers in public service. Addressing 7,293 recruits from 12 different departments, he reminded them that the state government follows a strict zero-tolerance policy toward corruption and expects every employee to treat unethical practices as “poison that can destroy both one’s life and career.”

Speaking at the 12th State-Level Recruitment Fair and Orientation Program held at the Kalinga Stadium, the Chief Minister said that government recruitment in Odisha has been carried out with utmost fairness and openness. He encouraged the new entrants to serve the people of the state with empathy and dedication and ensure that their work consistently contributes to Odisha’s development.

Majhi highlighted that the government had set an ambitious target of creating 65,000 government jobs within two years, and significant progress has already been made. “In just 17 months, including today’s appointments, we have provided employment to 37,325 candidates through 12 recruitment fairs.
