Smriti Mandhana’s Wedding Postponed After Father Suffers Sudden Health Crisis

SANGLI: The wedding of Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Munchal has been postponed following a medical emergency involving her father, Shrinivas Mandhana. The ceremony was due to take place on Sunday in Sangli.

According to family sources, Mr. Shrinivas Mandhana suffered a heart-related complication at the family farmhouse in Samdol on the morning of the wedding, just as final preparations were underway. What first seemed like a minor health issue quickly worsened, prompting the family to call for immediate medical help. He was taken by ambulance to a private hospital in Sangli, where he is currently under medical supervision. Hospital authorities have stated that his condition is stable.

Deeply concerned for her father, Smriti decided to postpone the wedding until his health shows significant improvement. The family has officially informed guests and media representatives about the change in plans, and all arrangements at the venue are being dismantled. They have also appealed for privacy as they focus on his recovery.

Earlier, confusion arose after reports suggested that a guest had fallen ill during the ceremony. However, it was later clarified that the person involved was Smriti’s father. Swift action by medical professionals helped stabilise the situation and prevented further complications.

The wedding, scheduled for November 23, was intended to be a private affair with close relatives, friends and members of the Indian women’s cricket team in attendance. Supporters and fans have since expressed concern and sent messages of goodwill, wishing Mr. Mandhana a speedy recovery.

For now, the Mandhana family has chosen to prioritise health and wellbeing, with the wedding to be rescheduled at a later, more suitable time.
