Odisha State Day at IITF 2025 Showcases Cultural Grandeur and Vision for a Developed Odisha by 2036

New Delhi / Bhubaneswar:  Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi reaffirmed the State Government’s dedication to inclusive growth that uplifts every section of society while preserving Odisha’s rich cultural legacy and embracing innovation and progress. He appealed to citizens to collectively contribute towards the goal of building a prosperous and developed Odisha by 2036.

Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest during the Odisha State Day celebrations at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025, the Chief Minister said the fair’s theme strongly reflects Odisha’s ambitions and immense potential. He highlighted that the State is steadily carving a unique identity in the production of high-end micro-products, including silicon-based semiconductor chips, by adopting cutting-edge technologies. This technological advancement, he noted, will strengthen the economy and generate significant employment opportunities.

Speaking to the media, Shri Majhi underlined the Government’s focus on formulating progressive policies that encourage renewable energy, promote environmental conservation through extensive plantation drives, and ensure sustainable development for future generations.

He further observed that initiatives such as the Utkarsha Odisha: Make-in-Odisha Conclave have successfully drawn global industrial attention, while platforms showcasing the innovations of young entrepreneurs and start-ups have positioned Odisha on the international map. He also mentioned the International Millet Convention, which helped connect Odisha’s indigenous Shree Anna with global markets, gaining international recognition for the State’s forward-thinking approach under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Chief Minister formally inaugurated the celebrations at Amphitheatre-1 by lighting the ceremonial lamp and released special editions of Utkal Prasanga and Odisha Review. During his tour of the Odisha Pavilion, he interacted with artisans, weavers and stall owners from various departments, encouraging them to uphold Odisha’s glorious traditions while striving towards a self-reliant future.

The cultural programme showcased the State’s rich performing arts heritage, featuring Odissi dance by artists from Nupur, Bhubaneswar; Pashumukha dance by Bichitra Barnali Natya Sansad of Digapahandi, Ganjam; Sambalpuri dance by Rumkujhumana of Subarnapur; Singha dance by Nutan Kala Sansad of Kandhamal; and the energetic Ghumura dance by Brundaban Sanskrutika Anusthan, Kalahandi.

The event was attended by several eminent personalities including MPs Shri Pratap Sarangi, Shri Sujit Kumar, Shri Niranjan Bishi and former MP Shri Amar Patnaik; Orissa High Court Justice Smt. Savitri Ratho; Additional Chief Secretary of Industries and I&PR Department Shri Hemant Sharma; Secretary of Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department Shri Bijay Ketan Upadhyay; Principal Resident Commissioner of Odisha in New Delhi Shri Vishal Gagan; Resident Commissioner Smt. Ritu Arora; Director of Information & Public Relations Shri Anuj Kumar Das Pattanaik; Director (Technical) Shri Gurbir Singh, along with other senior officials and dignitaries.
