44th India International Trade Fair 2025
Odisha Pavilion Draws Crowds with Tribal Crafts and Koraput Coffee
Organic Products Witness Surging Demand
New Delhi / Bhubaneswar, 24 November 2025:
The Odisha Pavilion at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 has emerged as one of the most captivating attractions at Bharat Mandapam, Hall No. 4. Its artistic layout and vibrant display of tribal creativity have been receiving an overwhelming response from visitors. Handcrafted tribal products offered at reasonable prices, along with a wide range of organic, value-added food items, have become instant favourites among buyers. With the Prime Minister’s mention of Koraput Coffee in the Mann Ki Baat programme, the brew’s popularity has seen an unprecedented rise this year.
Representing the State Government’s Department of SC & ST Development and Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare, the TDCCOL and the Odisha State Tribal Museum under SCSTRTI are showcasing an impressive collection of Odisha’s tribal heritage at the Pavilion.
Taking cues from the enthusiasm witnessed in earlier editions of the trade fair, the Pavilion features paddy crafts made by the Bhottada tribe of Nabarangpur, Dokra metalwork crafted by Santal artisans from Mayurbhanj, and the signature paintings of the Gond artists from Keonjhar along with the Saura tribe of Rayagada. Items made from sabai grass by the ‘Maa Andharibudhi Sabai PG’ of Mayurbhanj have also become crowd-pullers, particularly among those looking for eco-friendly household products.
The heightened attention around Koraput Coffee, following repeated endorsements by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has prompted TDCCOL to set up a special stall exclusively for the aromatic brew. Visitors are thronging the stall in large numbers, with many returning customers choosing to purchase bigger quantities than in previous years. During his visit on 22 November, Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi sampled Koraput Coffee himself and urged buyers to support this indigenous product as part of India’s vision of self-reliance in coffee production.
Organically grown agricultural and horticultural produce from Odisha’s tribal communities has carved out a distinct niche in the market. To further expand their global reach, processed products such as Kandhamal turmeric powder, black mustard, brown rice, dried red chilli, and several other items are being showcased at the ‘Adisha’ stall of TDCCOL. Traditional herbal powders used for wellness by tribal communities are also attracting considerable interest from health-conscious visitors.
Within the first ten days of the fair, the four stalls managed by the Department of SC, ST, and Minority & Backward Classes Welfare have collectively recorded sales amounting to ₹1.3 lakh, reflecting the growing appeal of Odisha’s indigenous products among national and international buyers.
