Five-Day Capacity-Building Programme for PGTs Successfully Concludes

Bhubaneswar : The five-day capacity-building initiative designed for Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) of non-government aided Higher Secondary Schools, organised under the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE), came to an end today. Educators from Political Science and Economics streams took part in the programme, with a total of 90 PGTs attending the training sessions.

Addressing the valedictory ceremony, Smt. Niyati Pattanaik, Director, DHSE, highlighted the growing need for teachers to continuously upgrade their professional competencies to nurture holistic student development. She urged the participants to create learning spaces that are free from fear and stress, enabling students to grow with confidence.

The session proceedings were led by Smt. Snigdha Mishra, Joint Director. Other dignitaries present included Smt. Binita Senapati, Joint Director; Sri Jitendra Nayak, Deputy Director; and Dr. Umakanta Sethi, OIC, SAMS. The vote of thanks was delivered by Smt. C.H. Vijayalakshmi, Deputy Director.

Throughout the five days, the training focused on strengthening the professional abilities of PGT teachers. The module included sessions on career awareness, teacher development, classroom handling, group-based activities, and understanding the Aspirational Schools framework. Participants engaged in 25 sessions—five per day—supplemented by a local exposure visit. The programme wrapped up with collection of participant feedback and distribution of certificates.
