CSR & Sustainability Conclave 2025 Opens; Deputy CM Singh Deo Highlights Role of CSR-Driven Innovation

Bhubaneswar : The two-day CSR & Sustainability Conclave 2025 commenced today at the Odisha State Convention Center, inaugurated by Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo. Designed to promote technology-enabled social development, the conclave brings together diverse stakeholders to highlight CSR-supported innovations, build cross-sector partnerships, and formalize collaborations through MoUs.

Organized by the Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster (BCKIC) under the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, the event is being held in collaboration with the Department of Energy, Government of Odisha. This year’s theme—“Driving Inclusive Growth through Technology, Energy & CSR Convergence”—focuses on integrating technological progress with community-centered development.

Addressing policymakers, industry leaders, and startup innovators, Deputy CM Singh Deo noted that Odisha is undergoing a pivotal transition in the energy sector. “We are steering the state toward an inclusive, technology-driven future. CSR-backed solutions will help deliver cost-effective, scalable, and context-specific innovations tailored to India’s needs,” he stated.

Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Ahuja emphasized that the conclave seeks to accelerate social transformation by strengthening partnerships and improving technology-enabled monitoring of development initiatives.

Distinguished speakers included Smt. Pi Lalrinpuii, Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Mizoram; Smt. Meghna S. Bordikar, Minister of State, Government of Maharashtra; Dr. Jitendra Kumar, MD, BIRAC; and Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary, Energy, Government of Odisha. Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, Chairman of BCKIC, delivered the welcome address, followed by a vote of thanks from Dr. Namrata Misra, CEO of BCKIC.

The conclave gathered corporate leaders, government officials, NGOs, and social innovators to discuss how technology can strengthen inclusive growth, rural development, and sustainable progress. Key sessions included leadership dialogues, discussions on policy frameworks for inclusive tech ecosystems, a startup innovation showcase, and forums on green growth and corporate stewardship.

A curated exhibition featuring 50 breakthrough innovations—highlighting futuristic, impact-driven concepts—was also inaugurated by the Deputy Chief Minister and accompanying dignitaries.
