Bhubaneswar : Odisha’s comprehensive public transport platform, Odisha Yatri, has marked a significant achievement by surpassing 5 lakh successful trips across the State, reinforcing its status as one of the most rapidly expanding ride-hailing and mobility applications in Odisha.
The platform has generated more than 28 lakh ride requests, indicating growing trust and increasing usage among commuters in major urban centres. With a user base exceeding 3.1 lakh registered passengers and an expanding network of 15,000 active drivers, Odisha Yatri continues to deliver a notably high driver acceptance rate of over 90%, resulting in quicker pickups, fewer cancellations, and a smoother travel experience.
Drivers on the platform have collectively earned around ₹7.5 crore, highlighting its role in enhancing livelihoods through a transparent pricing structure, guaranteed daily earnings, and a zero-commission policy. Moving beyond ride-hailing, Odisha Yatri is preparing to introduce QR-enabled digital ticketing for Ama Bus, with a goal of achieving 50% digital ticket usage within the next 3–4 months. This initiative is expected to improve efficiency, curb revenue leakage, and provide commuters with a seamless, paperless ticketing system.
The State Government envisions Odisha Yatri as a unified mobility super app that will integrate autos, cabs, buses, tourist destinations, and future transport options into a single digital ecosystem, offering convenient and connected travel solutions.
Commenting on the progress, Smt. Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, stated that Odisha Yatri embodies the Government’s vision for modern, inclusive, and technology-driven public transport, adding that expansion into more cities, increased vehicle choices, and stronger integration across transport networks are already in progress.
Riding on its current momentum, the platform aims to achieve 10 lakh completed trips by March 2026, supported by rising user adoption, increased driver participation, multimodal services, and continuous technological upgrades — reshaping daily commuting in Odisha while ensuring dependable income for drivers and smarter travel for passengers.
