Bhubaneswar, : The 22nd All India Gandarpur Cup football tournament organized by Gandarpur United Youth Sports Club has been inaugurated at Biju Patnaik Mini Stadium in Gandarpur on Sunday. President of Gandarpur Village Committee Bhaskar Chandra Padihari, Senior Murbi Antaryami Kanur, Kailas Chandra Rout, Educationist Basant Rath, Secretary Jitendra Senapati, Club President Laxman Rout attended the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest. Three matches of three divisions were held today. In the first match of Rural A-Division, CGU University defeated Balunkeshwar Club by 2-0 goals and entered the quarter. In the Rural B-Division match, Supreme Football Club Barahipur defeated Baba Banchhamani Club by 1-0 goals and entered the quarter. Similarly, the third match was played between Sports Hostel Cuttack and Jaga United Bhubaneswar of the urban division. Sports Hostel Cuttack defeated Jaga United Bhubaneswar by 3-0 and entered the semi-finals. In the 34th minute of the first order of the game, Aloka Das, who wore jersey number 20, scored the first goal for the team, while Jagannath Tudu scored two goals in the 24th and 58th minutes of the second order to make the team victorious. Aloy Das was declared Man of the Match. Shiva Shankar Panda, Sudeep Das, Brahmananda Bhoi, Jyoti Hemram managed the match. Thousands of spectators attended and enjoyed the game.
