All India Gandarpur Cup Football Tournament
Bhubaneswar: The All-India Gandarpur Cup football tournament will be held from 8th December Sunday at the Biju Patnaik Mini Stadium in Gandarpur, of Bhubaneswar. A total of 32 teams will participate in the 21st tournament organized by Gandarpur United Youth Sports Club. In A-section, there were 16 teams from rural areas such as Deuli 42 Mauza, UGC University, Munduman, Usuma, Baulakuda, Madhuban, Jaipur, Sainso, Barahipur, Tangibant, Ghatikia, Belgachhia, Gothapur, Maidpur, Sharadhapur, Naranpur while 8 teams were in B-section. Team Gababasta, Adasapur, Nariso, Kantapada, Tandikana, Urali, Padmakesharpur, Kurang, Amana while in the urban division five teams from Odisha were Spots Hostel, Jaga United-Bhubaneswar, Sunrise Club-Cuttack, Rourkela-Red, Samaleswari Spotting-Sambalpur team and three teams from outside the state were Wadis-Manipur, Tamil Nadu Police. And Cameroon-11 will participate. The game will continue for 8 days. Winners and runners-up teams of three categories will be given attractive trophies with a cash amount of around 340,000 and Bullet Motorcycles will be given to the best players in rural areas. Special attraction will be 11 Nigerian players from Cameroon. As thousands of spectators participate in this tournament, like every year, this year also there is a program of audience participation. In this, viewers can get many gifts like TV, fridge, washing machine through lottery by buying free tickets. The Ending ceremony will be held on the 15th, the club’s advisor Gyana Ranjan Raut and Secretary Manas Ranjan Padihari have given information that distinguished people in various fields will be promoted.
